I joined SAVY International back in June 2013.

Before joining SAVY, I was having a lot of lower back pains and my flexibility especially in my legs was not very responsive.

My doctor prescribed pain killers.

I am not a spring chicken, but that was not acceptable. I decided to do something about the problem.

My wife who was then doing yoga at SAVY encouraged me to join the yoga classes. And this is how it started.

Over the past five months, I have been going to yoga classes on the average four days per week enduring the exercises and deep stretches for one hour a day under the professional guidance of Dr. Jitender Sahdev.

Today, five months later, I am happy to say my flexibility and mobility have improved, my back pains are hardly noticeable and I no longer take the prescribed pain pills.

November, the month of the Remembrance Day, is here. November used to be the ninth month in Roman calendar, hence its name from novem means nine; but it became the eleventh month later when January and February were added. Month long observances are held for Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month, COPD Awareness month, National Novel Writing Month, National Blog Posting Month (NaBloPoMo), Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month, American Diabetes Month, Lung Cancer Awareness Month, National Homeless Youth Awareness Month, Crohn’s & Ulcerative Colitis Awareness Month, National Pomegranate Month in the United States, International Drum Month, National Stomach Cancer Awareness Month (United States), Epilepsy Awareness Month, No Shave November, Movember and many more events.
November starts on the same day of the week as February in common years and March every year. November ends on the same day of the week as August every year. November starts on the same day of the week as June of the previous year in common years and September and December of the previous year in leap years.
In this now very popular Featured SAVY Yogi of the Month series, we present SAVY Yogis who have been learning the right kind of yoga with correct techniques, have done wonderfully well for themselves and are a guiding light and a source of great inspiration for others.
In such an important month, it’s a matter of great pride for me to introduce a man of wonderful calibre as our next savvy SAVY Yogi – Eugene. He is a man with a golden heart! Not only is he a great friend and a very important member of SAVY family, but also a very helping, loving and caring person, sporty and smiling always. A man of some serious grit and determination, he keeps pushing the bar up. A lively person, he takes his yoga very seriously. Eugene and Liz, along with Marlene and Judy, are a joy to teach. His determination, regularity and progress in yoga classes has been exemplary.
Keep it up, Eugene!
